According to Mr. Juca Oliveira, one of the restaurant’s partners, and his son Eloir Luz, the term Brasuca, was born with the restaurant’s foundation in September 1978. From then on, Brazilians began to be called brasucas.
To get an idea of the pioneering spirit of this restaurant just say that they had to grow black beans to prepare our famous feijoada.
They initially planted five kilos, which yielded two hundred kilos and finally gained four tons. They had a ton to consume in the restaurant and the rest was given to the cooperative that made the plantation.
Today Brasuca is internationally known and one of the best known gastronomic guides in the world.
